Indias research is interdisciplinary combining her backgrounds in biology and engineering to advance her research. Her PhD research focused on the development of biologically inspired surfaces and additives to reduce viscous losses. This work integrated finite element analysis and experimental work to address complex engineering challenges using nature inspired solutions. Her current research focus involves the sequestration and isotopic enrichment of various elements though the utilisation of biological systems. This will provide the basis for a low energy, biologically based route for applications such as water treatment and the nuclear industry. Additional interests include the research and development of a biologically derived antifouling treatment.
