Accommodation that Fits Your Lifestyle Designated Areas

We understand every student is different and has different preferences to their living environment. At Bangor, you have the freedom to pick accommodation that matches your personal preferences so you鈥檒l feel more at home here. Scroll to the right to read more about the types of designated areas we offer:聽

  • Alcohol-free Flats
  • Female-only Flats聽

Quiet Halls

We will inform all residents in these halls that a quieter environment is expected. However, it鈥檚 important to understand that no form of communal living is completely silent, and it may not always be possible to control noise from other areas of the hall or outside. Quiet halls have limited availability, and we cannot guarantee they will be available at the time of your application. These halls are located at Borth and Elidir聽in the Ffirddoedd Village. While St. Mary鈥檚 Village doesn鈥檛 have designated Quiet Halls, its tranquil surroundings and smaller flat options make it an ideal option for focused studying and relaxation.

Alcohol-free flats

You can select an alcohol-free flat on booking page. If you accept your offer of alcohol-free accommodation, you agree not to consume or store alcohol within the flat, which includes your bedroom. You will not be placed in an alcohol-free flat without prior notification. There is limited availability for these flats - we cannot guarantee their availability at your time of application.

Female-only flats

In some halls we offer female only accommodation. Residents should understand that they are permitted to have male visitors, though we would expect that they advise the rest of the flat as a matter of courtesy if a male visitor is staying overnight. There will also be visits to the flats by male members of the Halls Team, Mentor Team, Campus Life team, Maintenance staff and Domestic staff. If an entirely single sex environment is particularly important to you for cultural reasons it is unlikely that we can provide this in a Halls environment.

Accommodation Villages

We have two accommodation villages, Ffriddoedd and St Mary's. Both are within walking distance of the main University buildings and the city centre.
