Overview
My research focuses on the biology of squamous carcinomas, a group of diseases with similar genetic origin and, conceivably, similar vulnerabilities. I am particularly interested in identifying the origins of the heterogeneity that is so prominent in lung squamous cell carcinomas (LUSC), modelling and investigating precancerous stages and identifying vulnerabilities associated to the different LUSC subtypes.
In addition, I have a special interest in developing human models of cancer to reduce the number of animals in research. To do that, we use human cells and organoids to model squamous carcinomas.
