Dr Denise Foran Conn

Lecturer in Behavioural Analysis

d.foran-conn@bangor.ac.uk

鈥

Dr Denise Foran Conn

Overview

Denise is a Lecturer and Clinical Director in Behaviour Analysis at the North Wales School of Education. Denise is also a certified behaviour analyst (UKBA [cert] and BCBA), with over seventeen years of experience in the application of behaviour analysis in a range of settings.

Her work sits at the intersection of applied research, professional practice, and higher education pedagogy. She is passionate about improving outcomes for learners and educators in schools through collaborative practice, and the translation of research into meaningful clinical and policy-relevant outcomes.

Much of her research is collaborative and close to practice. Her PhD research evaluated behaviour analytic interventions in maintained Additional Learning Needs (ALN) schools. Denise has collaborated with GwE (North Wales school improvement) to support schools with classroom and behaviour management, and was principal researcher on a project that evaluated teachers' perceptions of behaviour in schools as part of this project.

She is currently working on a Welsh Government-funded project on behaviour in schools. The project is a collaboration between several universities across Wales. Denise is principal researcher on one of the associated projects related to Additional Learning Needs (ALN), and contributes to broader multi-strand research initiatives, with direct implications for policy and practice in schools across Wales.
