Our BSc Policing degree is licensed by the College of Policing and meets all core requirements of the Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF). This means your learning follows the national standards for police education in England and Wales.

Delivered in partnership with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, during your degree you’ll study a curriculum designed to help you apply to police forces across the UK. After graduating you could apply to join the police on a two-year probation period.

Please note: Completion of this degree does not guarantee the opportunity for recruitment into the police service, you’ll still need to pass the required Police application process. Those planning a career in the police are advised to check eligibility criteria as set out by individual police services.

We have strong links with North Wales Police and national crime agencies. You’ll hear first-hand from former and serving officers, criminology specialists and those working in the justice system.

Past students for example have visited the North Wales Police control centre, Crown Court trials, met with the Armed Response Unit and heard from guest speakers across policing and criminology. These experiences help you build your professional network and understand what a policing career really involves.

There are also opportunities to become a Special Constable whilst you study. You could serve operationally with North Wales Police giving you a real insight into a policing career.

Many of our graduates go on to apply for roles within policing, but the skills you develop open a wide range of career options.
