Most university courses begin at the end of September, with the first week of term being called 'Welcome Week'. At Bangor, there are no formal lectures during Welcome Week but you’ll need to move into your halls of residence before the week begins and there are lots of events taking place throughout the week. You can find out more about Welcome Week on our website.
Welcome Week (which is sometimes called Freshers Week, Induction Week or Orientation) is the first week you’ll spend at University, where you’ll take part in various activities and sessions to welcome you to the University. During Welcome Week you choose your modules, pay fees and get involved in activities such as Serendipity where you have the opportunity to join clubs and societies. Individual academic Schools within the University also organise activities for you to keep you busy for the first week.
